Hello!! Kemopop! has received a new content update.

Ailorus: New Guest! New Stage!!

Meow!!! Ailorus's stage is sure to net you a lot of money...!!

This is a new guest character by carrudra. This artist also drew Sencha, which is now grouped with the character in the new Guest Artist section on the character select! 

Khloe: New Stage, and Art Pass! 

For hyper lovers, Khloe has a new stage. Yatta!!!

Khloe's previous artwork has been touched up.

New Stage Hazard!

Watch out! Ice has been added to Mineral's stage (and will be in select future stages). 

Ice is like tar - except it's going to freeze. After 5 seconds, it'll remain in place. A unique feature of ice is that it is not affected by the clear line. Any ice above the clear line will remain in place during a refill!

Biographies 2.0

The game now has too many characters for the old UI to keep up. Biographies have been taken out of the little box, and into a lovely new overlay.

Here, you can use the arrow keys to quickly cycle through character records. Super useful!!

A new statistic is now being tracked, and has a related achievement.

Improved tracking of completed stages

Alt character icons now have a star to indicate if you have completed that set.

An issue with the delayed updating of the stage completion stamp has been fixed. Additional UI improvements to track stage completion will arrive soon.

Accompanying achievement changes

The "reach level 5 with x" achievements have changed. The new achievements require you to collect all artwork, in the case of characters with more than 5 scenes, to make these achievements make more sense (and to let you know when to stop). 

These achievements will be awarded immediately on older saves, if you have reached the requirements.

New settings overlay!

The settings window now has a new design.

There is still an issue with keyboard control. I'm trying to find a reasonable solution and will be building elements that can be navigated with a controller.

Where did the bonus menu go?

This is now in the new settings overlay. 

Miscellaneous

  • A new music track has been added.
  • The music playlist now uses the 7-bag algorithm when choosing the next song.
  • When exporting saves, the filename now defaults to kemopop-YYYY-MM-DDTHH-MM-SS.save.
  • Several new achievements have been added.
  • The 100x and 150x multiplier achievements have been removed; they were uncreative. If you could figure out the 200x multiplier achievement, these were a breeze.
  • Rika now has an unlock requirement.
  • Fisk now has a different unlock requirement (his old one has been donated to a new character).
  • Cyro's background has been changed so it's no longer a void.
  • SFW Mode will now apply instantly to active artwork upon toggling the setting (a small bug, it won't do it when disabling, thoughever).
  • Character Level Offset will now apply instantly to active artwork upon toggling the setting.
  • After several field tests, save importing on the web is now functional!!

As promised last week, the sale price of the game has increased. This helps cover the future development of this game (we're not done yet).

Next week's update should be less technical, but will introduce a new character plus new stages for existing characters.

  • 1.6.1: fixes a small issue with Ice + Conversion which may give sweets the wrong collision flags.
  • 1.6.2: adds cute software cursors. disable software cursors in the settings menu.
  • 1.6.2: gives more buttons a pointing cursor.
  • 1.6.2: the bio and settings overlays can now be closed by clicking the empty space.

EGYPTIAN DESERT THEME BOY WOOO~!

Have you thought about adding an ability to chat with the characters?  Like after you unlock all the pics you can have short flirty interactions with them.

it's crossed my mind. what prevented me from doing it is it adds more stuff to localise if we want to translate it all, and I'd have to draw more expressions etc. to make it more engaging. I've been flirting with the idea of a spiritual sequel that is a little more character driven @w@

Ahh, yeah it would be difficult for all the localization and I doubt just using gestures would really work.   It would be so cute to have a little flirty story game with them.
